What is the Homo Cosmicus?

What is this?
You've stumbled across my blog in this vast area of intelligence we call "The Internet," much like our species has stumbled across the realization of the vast area of Space-Time we call "The Universe."
Well for starters, let's catch you up since you may have shown up a little later than others.
The title of the blog is "The Homo Cosmicus Blog", which you either already understand what this is or you don't.

Konstantin Tsiolkovsky: Russian from the 1850's. A very important man to this topic. He believed that mankind would advance to an age of efficient space travel to distant worlds to colonize and expand the human empire and would evolve to a state of immortality and carefree lifestyles (not to sure about these two happening, but space colonization is definitely possible).

Homo Cosmicus is the next step in evolution, where we colonize the worlds unknown. Humans will evolve and adapt to the changes in weight and radiation inflicted upon us as we continue to venture out into space in search of a new home. As Steven Hawking determined, we are killing this planet and we need to escape in the next 1000 years or mankind is doomed due to our own self-destruction. We can't live on this planet for much longer, our atmosphere is polluted (and will only get worse), important species are going extinct or going through overpopulation (and will only get worse), and we can't seem to get our species together in one concentrated burst of survival. My English teacher put it like this: "There will always be war, famine, hatred; there is always going to be what we define as 'Evil' in this world. History has taught us that..."

I've had my mind stuck on colonization of distant worlds since I studied American History where the British colonized the New World. I knew we couldn't live on this world long, Hawking knew it, and I want you all to know it so we can put our combined efforts into propelling mankind into the depths of space and weave ourselves into the Fabric of Space-Time.

How can you help?
This blog is mainly for me to post ideas I have on colonization, which will indeed begin on the Moon because of it's relative closeness and the fact that it will be the easiest to make habitable (the Moon is made up of common elements found on the Earth that can be revamped back into functionality).
I don't want to be alone on this project; I know there are others out there to help me.
It would be my honor to hear your feed back on my ideas that I post so that we, together, can improve and finalize a working, profitable, self sustaining colony on the Moon.
And who knows? After settling the Moon, we could go for another body such as Mars.

But it's up to us, mankind, to make this possible.
We are our only hope.

  1. Moon based facilities and moon orbital construction platforms of large cruise ship sized Space arks, are the best way, for us to begin colonization of distant inhabitable planets.

  2. colonization = self destruction
respect the only planet you have and the human kind will survive.
